Newsletter giveaways are one of the fastest, easiest and most cost-effective ways to grow your newsletter subscribers.

When you partner with like-minded brands (also called a ‘multi-brand newsletter giveaway’) for this type of marketing activity, you have the potential to reach a much wider audience. The more brands you get involved, the bigger the reach, the faster you grow your subscriber list.

Remember: Be mindful when choosing the partner brands, they should always align with your brand ethics and your customer profile.

Step by step guide on how to execute a Newsletter giveaway with multiple brands.

  • Once you have established the brands you are working with, you will all need to contribute and agree on the following:
    – Prizes & value
    – Any Terms and conditions e.g must be UK resident, over the age of 18, you agree to subscribe to all parties newsletters
    – Entry requirements e.g subscribe to our newsletter
    – Giveaway duration. We recommend running the giveaway for 7 – 10 days for maximum results
    – How the winner will be chosen and announced (more details below on this)
    – The marketing involved that all brands will share e.g the newsletter assets and social media assets. One brand should create this and distribute. All brands share the same content for consistency.
  • Designate one brand to create a landing page on their website that will hosts giveaway page including Copy, T&Cs, and an entry form where participants can submit their email addresses.
  • Determine how to track giveaway entrants using your email marketing platform (e.g. Mailchimp, Klaviyo)
  • Partner brands share all necessary copy and assets relating to their brand and prize for the giveaway in order for the final assets to be created.
  • The newsletter and social media content is to be distributed to participating brands. Agree on the posting schedule.
  • All brands promote the giveaway to their respective mailing lists and social media audiences
  • Once the giveaway has ended. Share the final newsletter subscriber list with all partner brands in an Excel format for integration into their email marketing tool.
  • Use Google’s ‘Random Number Generator’ to select a winner from the list of entrants. Notify the winner.
  • Optional: Follow up with new subscribers by introducing your brand and providing a discount code
